Becky G playfully sticks out her tongue while arriving at Spotify’s Secret Genius Awards held at Ace Hotel over the weekend in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old “Mayores” singer spoke with ET on the carpet and revealed that she was a little nervous to tackle the country genre with her new collab with Kane Brown.

“I think as an artist, especially in this day and age, there’s mixed emotions,” she shared. “There’s definitely this creative freedom, that I feel very liberated by… why do we have to be put into boxes? But at the same time, you’re like, ‘Am I going to be accepted in this genre? Am I going to be accepted by this community or this audience of fans?’”

However, the song has been welcomed by tons of fans.

“I was so excited about the collaboration, not just because I was a fan of music, but because of him,” Becky added about teaming up with Kane. “I was a great fan of him, and I’m just so happy. I’m happy that it’s gone well.”
