Lily Collins Says Playing Fantine in 'Les Miserables' Was a 'Bucket List' Thing For Her

Lily Collins steps out for a little shopping on Tuesday afternoon (November 27) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 29-year-old actress recently chatted with British Vogue about her next role as Fantine in BBC’s Les Miserables adaption, which will premiere in 2019.

“I really got to see what I was made of on this shoot,” she shared when speaking of the project, that was shot in Belgium. “Whether it was the temperature or the workload or the physicality of Fantine and her storyline and her sadness, I learned what I could withstand.”

The adaption is not the musical, and because of that, viewers can really focus on the story.

“You get to see the character in a different way when there’s not a song,” Lily adds. “What was said in a lyric gets to be a fully fledged scene. It’s been a real bucket-list thing to do.”
