'Mary Poppins Returns' Bathtub Scene Was 100% Real

By now, we’ve all seen Mary Poppins Returns in theaters – and if you haven’t, what’s the hold up?!

Anyhow, there’s a pretty iconic scene in the film, and in the trailers, where Emily Blunt, as Mary Poppins, leans back into a bathtub and just simply disappears into a fantastical world.

But if you’re still wondering if that was CGI at all, we’re here to tell you it was 100% real.

Emily truly did disappear into a bathtub and onto a…slide that led her under the set.

“They actually carved a hole in the bottom of the bath and had a slide that went under the stage,” Emily recently explained of how the crew pulled off the amazing shot.

“But it was a drop. It was fast and steep. So the kids did theirs 20 times; I think I did it twice.”
