National Figure Skating Champ Alysa Liu Reveals Her Ritual Before Hitting The Ice

Alysa Liu just made history over the weekend, as the youngest ever US National figure skating champion – and last night, she made her late night talk show debut!
The 13-year-old figure skater opened up to host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show about her big win, and showed off her pre-skate ritual.
“I’m actually nervous right before I get on, but me and my coach do our ritual. I jump up and down eight times into a landing position. It’s like a superstition if I don’t do it,” she shared.
Then, Alysa did the ritual on the show with Jimmy!
Since she’s only 13, Alysa won’t be able to participate in the World Championships later this spring (she’s too young), or the Junior World Championships either (she’s already made her senior debut). Instead, she’s setting her sights on the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.
