Rachel Zegler Sets Record Straight On How She Was Casted In 'West Side Story'

Rachel Zegler is shutting down all the overnight sensation stories down.

The 17-year-old student, who was chosen from thousands to star as Maria in the upcoming West Side Story movie, cleared the air on her Instagram Stories of just how she won the part.

“I didn’t get cast from my viral video from early January,” Rachel pointed out. “That would be cool but…it was a whole year of hard work, dedication, and persistence. and a whole lot of faith.”

Rachel will star opposite Ansel Elgort in the flick.
