Naomi Scott Knew She Would Get Criticized For Portrayal of Jasmine No Matter What

Naomi Scott was already prepared for audiences to criticize her portrayal of Jasmine in the new live action Aladdin.

The 26-year-old actress opened up about taking on the role and bringing her own flavor to the character.

“No matter what you do, you will get criticized,” she told E! News. “So, I figure just do what you’re gonna do. There’s a sense of wanting to get that balance right of honoring the original [film] and kind of adding your own flavor. You just do your best. You just do what feels right to you.”

Naomi added that she always wanted to play Jasmine. “For me, I definitely knew how I wanted to play her. It was personal to me as well. I loved Jasmine growing up, so it was exciting,” she added.
