Billie Eilish Talks Mental Health With 'Rolling Stone'
Billie Eilish takes the cover of Rolling Stone‘s latest issue, out August 6th!
The 17-year-old singer spoke to the mag about mental health, fame, and having to quit dancing. Check it out:
On being in a good place with her mental health: “I haven’t been depressed in a minute, which is great. Seventeen has probably been the best year of my life. I’ve liked 17.”
On seeing fans go through similar battles with mental health: “Sometimes I see girls at my shows with scars on their arms, and it breaks my heart. I don’t have scars anymore because it was so long ago. But I’ve said to a couple of them, ‘Just be nice to yourself.’ Because I know. I was there.”
On deciding to see a therapist: “I have a job that doesn’t allow me to break down. I can’t go cry somewhere, I can’t go scream and be mad. I have to work.” She’d tried seeing a therapist a few times last year and found it so-so, but she forced herself to go again. “I just was in such a bad place. It was too much on me. I was too much on me. I don’t want advice because I’m not going to take it anyway. I just wanted to be heard.”
