Netflix's 'Team Kaylie' Star Bryana Salaz Dishes On New Show - See The First Look Pics & Premiere Date Here!

JJJ is so excited to premiere the very first look at Netflix’s upcoming series, Team Kaylie!

The series stars Bryana Salaz as the title character, a shallow, selfie-obsessed, teen celebrity, who after a misdemeanor, is court-ordered to serve her community as the leader of an after school wilderness club for inner city tweens.

Kaylie’s idea of roughing it is braving a wrinkle on the red carpet, so this punishment seems like an absolute disaster. But being forced out of her comfort zone – spending time in nature, with kids no less – will prove that she has so much more to offer than the pretty face her domineering mom-ager has always prized.

Team Kaylie also stars Alison Fernandez, Symera Jackson, Elie Samouhi, Kai Calhoun, and Eliza Pryor.

Team Kaylie is set to premiere on September 23rd on Netflix!

JJJ: Can you tell us more about your character Kaylie?
BRYANA SALAZ: Kaylie is a huge reality TV star and has one of the – if not the – largest followings on social media. But, she is so much more than her followers, face, and fame. She has the biggest heart, and I love that everyone will be able to see the growth she has from the first to last episode.

JJJ: What was your reaction when you got this role in Team Kaylie?
BRYANA: I was in a store when I got the call that I was going to be playing Kaylie. I remember holding a big bin of water bottles and dropping them. I was so excited! I couldn’t believe that I was going to be Kaylie on Team Kaylie. Definitely the best call I’ve ever gotten. I’ll never forget that feeling.

JJJ: How was it working with all your younger co-stars? How did you bond off the set with them?
BRYANA: It was truly an incredible time working with them. They’re all so special and each of them have a special place in my heart. We did some cast dinners and would all hang out outside of work! Such a special group of kids!

JJJ: Do you identify more with the kids or with Kaylie in terms of personality?
BRYANA: After being Kaylie for so long, I realize I’m a lot more like her than I thought…and that’s what’s so awesome about the show. You really start to see beyond the surface level Kaylie and get to know the real Kaylie…and the truth is, she’s a lot like us than we think!

JJJ: What were some of your best memories from filming?
BRYANA: There’s literally so many memories from filming! I could sit here for hours! We all have handshakes- I have a handshake with each kid! There’s just always something happening on set with us. It was really a family! Always a good time!

JJJ: Were there any scenes in particular that you loved shooting the most?
BRYANA: I LOVED doing anything with stunts. I was actually able to do a ton of my own stunts. The wrestling episode was a favorite of mine since I did most of my stunts! Also, anytime Kai and I had a little bicker scene, like when Ray Ray and Kaylie go back and forth, we always had such a hard time not laughing at each other and we never understood why!

JJJ: Is there an episode or scene that you think fans will identify with a lot?
BRYANA: There are so many episodes with great messages and extremely relevant topics that really make the show special. One of my favorite things about Team Kaylie is the acceptance and positivity it expresses. It touches on things that are so important and I’m really happy to be a part of it.

JJJ: What do you think will appeal to fans about the show?
BRYANA: I think everyone’s going to just love the positive, feel good energy. Every character is so special. There’s something for everyone to relate to, even the parents!

JJJ: How do you as Bryana stay grounded in the celebrity world?
BRYANA: Lucky for me my parents are just a highway away! It helps having family so close to get out of this world sometimes.

JJJ: Have you ever been part of a wilderness camp or anything like that? If you have, what was the best part for you?
BRYANA: Much like Kaylie, I am NOT an outdoors girl, but I appreciate the girls scouts and their cookies. Truly.
