Selena Gomez Says 'Look At Her Now' Was Inspired By Not Wanting Her Life To Be For Entertainment

Selena Gomez keeps warm in a comfy coat while out for a business meeting in Los Angeles on Tuesday (November 5).

The 27-year-old singer, who recently hit #1 with “Lose You To Love Me”, opened up about her other new song, “Look at Her Now”.

“It just got weird. It just got really complicated and I started noticing that my life just became a story and it was entertainment. I was just not okay with that because it was real,” Selena explained while talking with Zane Lowe on New Music Daily on Apple Music’s Beats 1. “It was very real to me. I think that’s the time I needed to just say, ‘I’m not going to be a part of this anymore,’ and how am I going to not be afraid to share what I feel just because I’m mad at what the world is doing? It’s not really going to get me anywhere.”

She continues, “Everything that I do is with good intention. That’s who I am. That’s always who I will be. That’s all for me to have figured out when that was going to happen. Had I released this a year ago, there’s no way in h***. No way that I could have been able to sit here and talk about it or even released this to anyone, because I did need to experience it on my own.”

“Taking the time that I did with this, it actually brings me so much joy because I’m in the place where I can talk about it and share with everyone,” Selena adds. “To be honest, this is just the first two songs. I fully believe that I’ve saved the best for last.”
