'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' Will Move To A New Musical For Season 2

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is going to be moving beyond everyone’s favorite DCOM for the next season.

The first season is premiering on Disney+ TOMORROW, but showrunner Tim Federle is already talking about plans for season two.

Speaking with TVLine, Tim revealed that once the school puts on High School Musical, they probably won’t be doing it again.

“It’s going to be a different musical,” he confirmed. “We’re circling a title right now that I’m really excited about. It’s definitely outside of the Troy and Gabriella world. At the end of the day, it’s going for something that’ll be escapist for people.”
