'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' Cast Weighs In On A Possible Cast Tour

The cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is opening up about possibly taking the series on the road, just like the original cast did after the 2008 film’s debut.

“Yes!” Joshua Bassett, who stars as Ricky, shared in a group interview with Hollywood Life, before boasting about his co-stars. “Everyone here’s the real deal. This cast, every single freaking one of them is insanely talented and can bring it to the table, and do bring it to the table every time we sing live in the show. So yes, let’s do it.”

The cast also chatted about the next season of the show, and what musical they would love to put on in the rockumentary series.

“I like the idea of Beauty and the Beast. I think that’d be cool,” Matt Cornett, who plays EJ, shared, with his on screen cousin, Julia Lester, chiming in with Into The Woods.

“There’s so many different characters that we could gender bend and do something fun with that show,” she shared.

Other suggestions included Pippin, Footloose, Grease and Sound of Music, before Josh suggested Shrek The Musical.

“I think East High is long overdue for a production of Shrek,” he says. “I just like the idea of one of us having to dress like an ogre.”
