Cameron Boyce's Parents Detail His Medical Condition Before His Passing
Cameron Boyce‘s parents are sharing more information about his medical condition before his untimely passing earlier this year.
Victor and Libby Boyce sat down with NBCLA in hopes to bring awareness to SUDEP – Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.
“Cameron was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 17-years-old. He had a total of five seizures in the time between being 17 and when he passed. He had his first seizure when he had some friends sleeping over. It was early in the morning and they witnessed him,” Libby explained.
She went on to say that Cameron quickly recovered after the first seizure but doctors could not figure out the cause. After his second seizure a year later, he was officially diagnosed with epilepsy.
Victor added, “His cause of death was Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy…Two months after he passed, that was the first time I had ever heard of SUDEP.”
The couple hope that The Cameron Boyce Foundation will help further educate people about epilepsy and encourage research on the condition as well as provide support to the family of those affected.
