Cole Sprouse & KJ Apa Open Up About What They Think Is Next For 'Riverdale' After Season 4

Just like their lovely co-stars, KJ Apa and Cole Sprouse have some ideas about where Riverdale will head next after season four, which marks the gang’s final year in high school.

KJ, who plays Archie Andrews, joked with ET that “maybe Archie will get held back a year.”

He added, “As long as the fans keep watching [we'll go on]. I mean, the show’s not called Riverdale High — it’s called Riverdale. So you never know what can happen afterwards.”

Cole also shared his thoughts about what happens next, despite his character being in some limbo following the mid-season finale.

“I think I’ve been a senior three times: Once in real life and twice on television,” he shared. “I think one of the initial questions for the abstract of the show was, ‘Are we going to age over time?’”

Cole adds, “And you know, naturally, as we grow older and we look older, we had to solve that problem, so it’s nice that we’re aging, and it also kinda frees up the universe a little bit inside Riverdale to play around with that concept. I’m excited to see where we all go.”
