Ava Michelle Talks Finding Self-Love In This Day & Age

Ava Michelle does the splits on a ladder on the side of a building in her feature with Grumpy magazine!

The 17-year-old entertainer opened up about her future career plans, finding self-love, and more. Check it out:

On self-love: “Self-love is so difficult to find in this day and age. For [Tall Girl] to be a PG movie that you can sit down and watch with your entire family, and they can all get this message, is just amazing… My mom would always tell me that if you don’t believe in yourself, what gives anyone else the right to believe in you? I’ve really learned that in the past year that just believing in yourself, it makes such a difference.”

On her #13Reasons4Me campaign: “Thinking about what I wanted, I realized how much of a negative space the mirror was, and I think it’s really important to turn it into a place for confidence. When you actually say those things to yourself, it makes you feel something you’ve never felt before. We don’t do that enough. We don’t tell ourselves we are worth it enough.”

On releasing more music: “I’m working with Luke [Eisner], my co-star who plays Stig [in Tall Girl]. his band is helping me produce and write my singles… Music is the thing you can really get personal with without people really knowing what it’s about.”
