Here's Why 'Riverdale' Fans Think Season 4 Ends With a Huge Time Jump
Riverdale may still be in the middle of its fourth season, but some viewers think they know how its going to conclude.
Fans began to speculate that the season will end with a five-year time jump after a TVLine blind item hinted that a broadcast network program had plans to make a narrative-altering jump.
This means that the Riverdale crew, who are currently in their senior year of high school, would fast forward to their post-college years.
“A time jump is the best way to do it. They can’t follow them to a bunch of different schools. There will be a mystery/problem that brings them all back to Riverdale after college and the show will continue from there,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Fans say that Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols‘ departure from the show also supports the theory as it shifts the focus away from parents, who would have less involvement in the cast’s lives as young adults.
The five-year jump would also bring the timeline up to speed with Katy Keene, allowing for more crossover episodes.
The Riverdale team has yet to confirm the news but we can’t wait to see what’s to come in season five!
