KJ Apa Doesn't View Himself as a Singer & Was Scared to Sing in 'I Still Believe'
KJ Apa did a hot new photo shoot with WWD and we have all the photos, plus some interview highlights, for you to check out right here!
The 22-year-old actor can currently be seen in the movie I Still Believe, which is available for streaming right now. Here’s what he shared with the mag:
On his career trajectory: “Every time I try and plan my career out, something comes by that completely throws me off, like a faith-based movie. Never did I ever, one, want to do a faith-based movie or two, imagine myself doing one. But that made me realize that it’s not about that. It’s about what inspires you. I hope that I can keep having opportunities to do work on projects that I’m inspired by. I feel like, at the end of the day, if you’re doing that, then you’re winning in life.”
On having to sing in I Still Believe: “The music was also one of the things that had me second guessing myself. I don’t see myself as a singer. Even still I don’t. I was scared to sing. But I was like, ‘F–k it. I’m just going to do it. I’m going to give it a go.’”
On being in the spotlight: “It was [something I saw for myself], which is weird. Not to be famous, but I always knew as a kid that I wasn’t going to be in New Zealand, that I was going to leave at an early age, and that I wasn’t going to do what everyone else was doing.”
