Selena Gomez Reflects on Young Hollywood in New Song 'She'

Selena Gomez is getting candid about young Hollywood in a new song.

The 27-year-old musician released a song titled “She” as part of the deluxe edition of her latest studio album Rare on Thursday (April 9).

The lyrics of “She” are pretty revealing regarding celebrity culture and Selena‘s experiences.

“She was too young to be the Hollywood type / Too pure to understand the lows and the highs / She didn’t know if she was gonna survive / It all got so much better with time,” she sings on the track, potentially referencing her bipolar disorder diagnosis with the “lows and the highs,” which she recently opened up about.

“‘Cause she was a girl with good intentions / Yeah, she made some bad decisions / And she learned a couple lessons,” Selena goes on to sing.

“Her world was crumbling and so was her faith / Wish I could talk to her, ’cause what I would say / ‘Oh baby, you’re enough to get you out of this place.’”

Selena has been very candid over the past few years about her struggles in the industry, as well as seeking treatment for her mental health, and “She” certainly seems to be an honest reflection on her own experience.
