Supergirl's Sixth Season Pushed Back To Midseason Due To Melissa Benoist's Pregnancy

The schedule for the 2020/2021 season for The CW was announced today (May 14) and there was one show missing from the lineup.

Supergirl has been put on hold a bit longer, due in part to star Melissa Benoist‘s pregnancy, THR reports.

The series is being pushed to premiere mid-season, whenever that happens in 2021, to allow time for Melissa to return after maternity leave.

Taking Supergirl‘s Sunday night time slot is Charmed‘s third season. The reboot is returning to it’s original time, Sunday nights at 9/8c.

Other shows returning mid-season include fellow DC Comic/Arrowverse title DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, In the Dark and Roswell, New Mexico, as well as new series Kung Fu and Republic of Sarah.
