Vanessa Hudgens Gets to Work on 'Tick, Tick...Boom!' Movie in NYC

Vanessa Hudgens makes her way out of hair and makeup while getting ready to start filming her new movie Tick, Tick…Boom! on Wednesday (October 21) in New York City.

The 31-year-old singer/actress sported an all black outfit paired with knee-high boots as she spent the afternoon filming the upcoming movie-musical.

Production for Tick, Tick… Boom! first started earlier this year, but was then put on hold because of the pandemic.

Andrew Garfield was spotted filming a few scenes back in March.

The upcoming Lin-Manuel Miranda-directed movie is based on the autobiographical, off-Broadway play by Jonathan Larson, the writer of Rent who died tragically the night before the hit show’s first preview performance.

Tick, Tick…Boom tells the story of an aspiring composer named Jon (Garfield), who lives in New York City in 1990. Jon is worried he has made the wrong career choice to be part of the performing arts.

The movie also stars Alexandra Shipp, Judith Light, and Bradley Whitford.
