Taylor Swift Can Now Re-Record Her First 5 Albums!

Taylor Swift is free at last to re-record some of her past albums!

If you remember, the 30-year-old songstress’ master recordings of her first six albums were sold in a huge deal to Scooter Braun, when he purchased her old label Big Machine.

Back in 2019, Taylor revealed that she plans to re-record her music so that she owns all the rights to her songs, and her old contract granted her the right to re-record the tracks starting in November 2020.

“My contract says that starting November 2020 — so, next year — I can record albums 1 through 5 all over again — I’m very excited about it,” she said on GMA last year.

The albums she can now start re-recording include Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989. She will have to wait until 2022 to be able to re-record Reputation because it was released in 2017, and she has to wait five years.

“The reason I’m rerecording my music next year is because I do want my music to live on. I do want it to be in movies, I do want it to be in commercials. But I only want that if I own it,” Taylor told Billboard back in December.
