Shawn Mendes Wows With 'Wonder' Performance at American Music Awards

Shawn Mendes goes solo for his second performance at the 2020 American Music Awards, which aired from the Microsoft Theater on Sunday night (November 22) in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old performed his smash new song “Wonder” just hours before his new Netflix documentary In Wonder is released.

“Thank you @AMAs & thank you Justin for being so kind and wonderful #ohcanada,” he wrote on Twitter after both of his performances.

Earlier in the night, Shawn joined Justin Bieber for a performance of their new duet “Monster.”

Shawn recently opened up about his approach to making his upcoming album Wonder, which is out on December 4th.

“I always felt like I had to walk into a studio and command the room and be like, ‘This is what we’re going to do,’” he told Apple Music. “And I just walked into the studio and I looked at the writers and the people who I love and trust, and I just hung out and just sat there and tried my best to let it come. And it did. And I feel really lucky for that because I think the point of the creative genius thing is that sometimes it doesn’t come, but don’t get down on yourself when it doesn’t.”
