Alaya 'That Girl Lay Lay' High Clears The Air On North West & Kim Kardashian Drama

Alaya “That Girl Lay Lay” High is clearing the air and setting the record straight on some recent drama online…

The 14-year-old rapper and upcoming Nickelodeon actress was in the news this week after posting on Instagram about Kim Kardashian asking her to take down a video with North West.

“@kimkardashian texted me to take down the new TikTok video with North in it. I don’t know why… They invited ME to their house. This industry SUCKS! I asked what did I do wrong and they didn’t answer me. So confused on what this industry is… just trying to make good positive music,” she shared in a post that was then taken down shortly after.

Kim‘s team says that the video was recorded without permission and her close friend Tracy Romulus had said, “Lay Lay was invited over one YEAR ago for a private child’s playdate [...] North is an 8-year-old child who is not on social media, and it is well within her parent’s rights to say how and when their daughter’s image can be used for promotional purposes just like it is well within Lay Lay’s parent’s right to say yes or no when it comes to their child’s image.”

In a new interview on Audacy’s V-103 in Atlanta, Lay Lay cleared the air on the situation.

She started off with saying, “My page is ran by my parents, my father… I went [to Kim's house] twice, and the first time we made videos to my song and they said it was okay to post when we sent them to ‘em.”

“The second time, we did the same thing that I did the first time, which we made TikToks and videos, which they said that I was secretly recording— which is not true,” she continued. “I was around the nanny and all of the security in the house and there’s cameras everywhere and we were outside [...] Everybody knew I was recording. They all know.”

“We didn’t think anything of it for them to say that I couldn’t post the dancing video because I already posted two [other] videos. We didn’t think it would be a problem this time,” Lay Lay added. “This time, it was asked to get taken down and I was upset ’cause I don’t understand that… I got upset and I was showing my dad I was upset. My dad, he is very, very overprotective, so when he was seeing that, he got really mad and posted.”

She then told him to take it down, and though he wasn’t listening to her, he did eventually take the post down.

Her dad added he has been talking to Kim on multiple occasions and even sent her the latest video, but when Tracy chimed in, he said she was “really, really nasty and that’s what triggered me… She was nasty and a pushover.”
