'Spider-Man' Star Jacob Batalon Books Lead In New SyFy Series 'Reginald the Vampire'

Big casting news for Jacob Batalon!

The 24-year-old Spider-Man: No Way Home has been cast in the lead role for the upcoming series Reginald the Vampire, THR reveals.

Reginald the Vampire is based on the “Fat Vampire” book series by Johnny B. Truant, and “revolves around an unlikely hero, Reginald Baskin (Batalon) who tumbles headlong into a world populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires as an unlikely hero who will have to navigate every kind of obstacle — the girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers he has a few unrecognized powers of his own.”

Harley Peyton will write the script, as well as serve as executive producer and showrunner. Jeremiah Chechik will also executive producer and direct.

In just a few months, Jacob will return to the big screen in the upcoming third Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and fans are anxiously awaiting a trailer!
