Disney Reveals New Concept Art & Details For Upcoming 'Princess & The Frog' Overhaul of Splash Mountain

Disney is unveiling more about the upcoming The Princess and the Frog overhaul of Splash Mountain at it’s theme parks!

In addition to brand new concept art being released, Disney has shared some new details about the ride and what to expect.

The story in the ride will take place “after the final kiss as Naveen and Louis join Tiana on her latest adventure, hosting a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration where everyone is welcome – during which some original music inspired by songs from the film will bring guests into the story.”

Tiana will lead the way, with guests encountering old friends and meet some new ones along the way.

In addition to all of the developments on the ride, Disney is making a $50k donation to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), which is a regional, pre-professional arts training center that offers students intensive instruction in culinary arts, dance, media arts, classical instrumental music, jazz instrumental music, classical vocal music, drama, musical theatre, theatre design, visual arts and creative writing.

As of this moment, Splash Mountain is still open at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, where the changes will be taking place. There is no date yet on when the changes will start or when it will open with the updates. We also don’t know what the new version of Splash Mountain will be called with the overhaul.
