'Riverdale' Cast Show Support for Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa In New Video After His Father Is Charged In Nicaragua

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is getting a lot of support from the cast of Riverdale amid the latest update on his father.

If you missed it, the showrunner’s father Francisco went missing back in July and was believed to have been kidnapped while on his way to Washington, DC.

After the assumed arrest, no one had heard from or seen Francisco, who has been an outspoken critic of the current regime in Nicaragua, where he lives.

In a new video, the cast and crew of Riverdale showed their support for Francisco, who is now accounted for and has been able to speak to and see Roberto‘s mother. The 77-year-old has been charged by the Nicaragua government for treason and conspiracy, according to Deadline.

Those in the video include Camila Mendes, KJ Apa, Charles Melton, Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Madchen Amick, Vanessa Morgan, Casey Cott, Drew Ray Tanner and Erinn Westbrook.

In the clip, the cast and crew are on set of the show and ask for help from fans to use their “voices to put pressure on the global community and rectify this miscarriage of justice.”
