Potential Season 2 Plot Teased In Latest 'Only Murders In The Building' Episode

This week’s episode of Only Murders In The Building had a teaser that you may not have noticed was a teaser!

Even though the Hulu series, which stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short, hasn’t even been renewed for a second season, but they’re already laying the groundwork for what the second season could be about.

In this week’s episode, “The Sting,” there’s some foreshadowing from Tina Fey‘s character Cinda Canning, co-creator John Hoffman shared with E! News.

“At the end of episode four, we’re saying it, with a little bit of a tease,” he said. “Cinda Canning is the one who holds the tease, [the] amazing Tina Fey.”

He added that her podcast monologue at the end of the episode “points, a little bit, to the potential for season two.”

“What happens when your second chance becomes your last shot is a line of dialogue from Brazos, episode 713, which prophesized what would happen 15 years later, when a fake detective decided to become a real one,” Cinda says. “When he and his true crime fan buddies took a second chance, and become the subject of our next investigation.”

If you’ve been following along with each new episode, you’ll know that the main three are investigating the murder of Tim Kono. The season also started with Selena‘s character Mabel all bloody, sitting next to a seemingly dead guy in the tie-dye hoodie. We’ve also seen photos of her being arrested.

“It’s not what you think,” she says as Steve and Martin enter the room to find her.

We’ll have to keep watching to find out what happens next, and hope that a season two is announced!
