Emma Chamberlain Talks Demanding Respect as a Young Businesswoman

Emma Chamberlain is the new digital cover star of V Magazine!

The 20-year-old YouTuber was photographed by Domen & Van de Velde with styling by Nicola Formichetti in Louis Vuitton‘s latest collaborative collection with Italian Art Maison Fornasetti.

In her cover story, Emma opened up about influencer culture fusing with high fashion, demanding respect as a businesswoman and her own relationship with fashion (she went to the Met Gala this year).

On her relationship with fashion: “I always loved clothes! There’s always been an underlying appreciation for it. I’ve also just become older and gotten a lot more sophisticated. Working with Louis Vuitton has made me have a deeper understanding and appreciation for fashion houses and designers in general.”

On influencer culture fusing with high fashion: “The world of fashion and fame has to evolve in order for it to grow, so this is a natural part of that. When people were questioning my entrance into it, it was kind of scary, but I understood where they’re coming from. My only hope is that people will accept me and let me be a part of it.”

On demanding respect as a businesswoman: “Some people just don’t take young people seriously and I understand that to a certain extent, but that would be detrimental to me in making these dreams come true. So I made sure to find people that do not look at me as a kid, but as a human being with a dream.”
