Ariana Grande to Star in 'Wicked' Movie with Cynthia Erivo!

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are heading to Oz in the long-awaited film adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical Wicked.

Jon M. Chu will be directing the film and he called the ladies up on FaceTime to deliver the exciting news to them.

Ariana, who has performed several Elphaba songs in the past, will be taking on the role of Glinda for the movie.

Cynthia, who is a Broadway legend after her Tony-winning performance in The Color Purple, will play the role of Elphaba.

The two superstars took to their Instagram accounts on Thursday night (November 4) to share the exciting news. In their posts, each of the ladies wrote a note to the other.

“‘Pink goes good with green.’ Congratulations Miss A, the part was made for you. I look forward to sharing this musical journey with you,” Cynthia wrote to Ariana.

“Dear Cynthia, Honored doesn’t even begin to cover it. I cannot wait to hug you. See you in Oz. All my love, Ari,” she wrote back.

The original stars of Wicked actually reunited just a couple months ago for an amazing performance.
