'Dune' Director Confirms Zendaya Will Have More 'Prominent Part' In Sequel

Denis Villanueve is opening up about the upcoming Dune sequel!

The director of the first movie, is taking on the duties for part two and he just shared a bit of info on the film.

In a new interview with Variety, Denis confirmed the second movie will definitely have a lot more of Zendaya.

“For Zendaya, I will say Part One was a promise. I know that we saw a glimpse of her in Part One, but in Part Two, she’ll have a prominent part,” he said on Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast. “We will follow Timothée [Chalamet] and Zendaya on their adventures in the desert. That’s the thing that excited me most about going back to Arrakis is to spend time with those characters again.”

He also added there’s one complicated scene in the sequel. “It involves sandworms that’s going to be one of the beautiful challenges of my life. And I know if I do it right, that will be the scene,” he shared.

It was recently revealed that Florence Pugh and Austin Butler are in talks to join the cast. Denis said that “things are not solidified” for Florence, yet.
