'The Flash' Will Become Longest Running DC Show On The CW, Passing 'Arrow'

The Flash is on track to become the longest running Arrowverse show on The CW!

In case you missed the news, it was announced today (March 22) that the hit DC show has been renewed for a ninth season on the network.

The Flash will now surpass the flagship series Arrow, which ran for only eight seasons.

The series currently stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / The Flash, Candace Patton as Iris West-Allen, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow / Killer Frost, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, Kayla Compton as Allegra Garcia, Brandon McKnight as Chester P. Runk and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West.

Next, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is right behind The Flash. They’re currently in their seventh season, and at the time of this post it has not been renewed, yet.

Obviously, the longest running The CW/The WB show is Supernatural, which went on for 15 seasons, followed by 7th Heaven at 11 seasons, Smallville at 10 seasons and One Tree Hill at nine.
