“There is a season 2, but I’m not going to go back,” Gavin shared with Us Weekly recently.

The actor admits that he was “happy to do the first season” but now he will be “branching off and going in a different direction.”

“It was such an incredible experience. I think Mindy is brilliant and the cast, everyone’s lovely,” he told the site. “But with so many amazing opportunities out there, we want to keep spreading our wings and leading ourselves to other projects so that’s the move.”

Gavin‘s character also had a romance with Pauline Chalamet‘s Kimberly, before she found out he had a girlfriend.

No word yet if the character will be written off or be recast.

The hit series was created by Mindy Kaling and was renewed for a second season back in December, and follows four college roommates (Chalamet, Rapp, Amrit Kaur and Alyah Chanelle Scott) as they arrive at New England’s prestigious Essex College. A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating as they live out their new, free lives on campus.
