Elle Fanning wears a long yellow coat while heading out to dinner on Thursday (March 31) in New York City.

The 23-year-old The Girl From Plainville actress was seen meeting up with Lucy Liu and more friends for the night out.

The night before, Elle made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote her new Hulu limited series.

While on the show, she opened up about what she did before signing on to the role, which is inspired by Michelle Carter’s unprecedented “texting-suicide” case.

“I think that this case was a very ripped from the headlines case and ended in the most tragic way that it could. I had to make sure that everyone that was involved was really telling the story in a sensitive way, because I think that it could be very easy to exploit or sensationalize a story like this,” Elle told Stephen.
