JoJo Siwa Gives Update On 'Bounce' Movie: 'It Wasn't The One'

JoJo Siwa is no longer attached to star in the movie Bounce.

The 18-year-old has parted ways with the movie, which was based on the book of the same name by Megan Shull, reveals Variety.

Paramount Pictures and Will Smith‘s Overbrook Entertainment were to produce the pic.

It’s also being reported that Paramount has dropped the film from it’s development slate, however, Variety notes the project fell apart months ago and has nothing to do with Will Smith‘s Oscars controversy.

Last weekend at the GLAAD Awards, JoJo told the site, “That project got put on hold, and then went away. It wasn’t the one.”

She also added, “I normally stay out of all politics, it’s not my gig. But, I will say that being kind to one another is very important. I think that can go both ways, kindness.”

The project was first announced in June 2020, and in June 2021, JoJo expressed that there was a kiss with a guy in the movie, and she felt quite uncomfortable with it. It was then revealed that the producers were fully supportive of JoJo and cut the kiss.

While this movie is no longer happening, JoJo will still be part of another upcoming project – the next season of So You Think You Can Dance!
