Sydney Sweeney is revealing that she thought her Euphoria character Cassie was going to be killed off the show in season two.

The 24-year-old actress was of course a prominent part of the season, and she just recently opened up about getting the script for the first episode.

In the second season’s opening ep, Sydney’s character gets in the car with Nate (Jacob Elordi), who was drinking and driving, and going faster and faster. Cassie then unbuckles her seatbelt after spilling beer on herself, and at one point was hanging out of the window of the truck as it sped down the road.

“I thought that Sam [Levinson] was killing me. I thought that I was going to get killed,” Sydney told EW‘s The Awardist podcast. “And the hanging out the window, actually, was just me hanging out the window. It was just random and very in the moment. But when I read it, I thought that Cassie was getting killed off. And I was really bummed. But then it turned into this weirdly sensual, dangerous connection between these two characters. And it became what it became.”

While we wait for season three of Euphoria, Sydney has also been cast in an upcoming Sony/Marvel film!
