Julie Plec is sharing her reaction to the many CW cancelations that took place this week.

The writer, director and producer actually had two shows get the axe from the network – Legacies and Roswell, New Mexico.

Julie created Legacies, and served as an executive producer, writer, and even director on the show. She was also an executive producer and director on Roswell.

“It’s the Red Wedding at WBTV/CW today. Much more to say, but not today. Loads of gratitude coming for fans and cast and crew in future tweets. But today, we mourn,” she wrote on Twitter that day.

In addition to the CW cancelations, Julie‘s other show The Endgame was also canceled by NBC.

Roswell, New Mexico creator and former showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie, who worked with Julie on The Originals as well, also shared her thoughts on both shows being canceled.

“#RoswellNM fans, I know it’s disheartening news, but don’t feel too sad! Hollier, the cast & the whole alien team have built a season 4 that delivers on soooo many moments we’ve ALL been dying to see, and I do think the ending feels satisfying. 🤠❤️👽 forever. June 6 on the CW,” she wrote.

Adding about Legacies, Carina said, “This hurts my heart a little. End of an era ❤️❤️❤️”

With Legacies coming to an end, that also means the end of The Vampire Diaries franchise, which of course spanned three shows and 13 years.

While these shows are ending, Julie has several more in the works.

She has the Vampire Academy coming out on Peacock, as well as Dead Day in the works with TVD co-creator Kevin Williamson, and the recently announced Confessions with TVD alum Paul Wesley set as lead.

Lastly, Julie has the upcoming new series The Girls on the Bus, based on the book “Chasing Hilary” by Amy Chozick, for HBO Max. She teamed up with another CW super-producer Greg Berlanti for this one.
