Shawn Mendes Wears Orange for Special Reason to Wango Tango 2022

Shawn Mendes is performing at the 2022 Wango Tango Festival!

The 23-year-old “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” singer performed during the music festival held on Saturday (June 4) at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.

While on stage, Shawn stopped midway through his performance to explain why he was wearing an orange T-shirt, revealing the special significance behind the color.

“We are wearing the color orange to raise awareness to end gun violence in America,” Shawn told the crowd, via People.

He then urged audience members to see his post on Instagram about his partnership with the non-profit organization, Everytown.

The Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, which is the education, research, and litigation arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, is the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country.

Shawn isn’t the only entertainer that has recently teamed up with Everytown in order to end gun violence.

This fellow musician announced that they are working to donate $1 million in ticket sales to Everytown.
