Nickelodeon Reveals Plans For 3 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Animated Movies

There are not one, not two, but THREE Avatar: The Last Airbender movies in the works!

Nickelodeon and Paramount Animation, home to Avatar Studios, will be working on three films based in the world of the popular series, THR reports.

Lauren Montgomery has been tapped to direct the first feature.

At this time, there is no title or details for the film, with Avatar co-creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino producing. They are co-chief creative officers of Avatar Studios, which was launched in 2021.

“As original creators Mike and Bryan expand the Avatar universe with us, we’re keeping it all in the family with Lauren bringing the same kind of expert, beautiful work she did on the original series to her new directing duties on the forthcoming theatrical,” Ramsey Naito, president of animation at Paramount and Nickelodeon Animation, said.

If you didn’t know, there is also a live action Avatar: The Last Airbender series in the works at Netflix.
