Marvel Developing 'Wonder Man' Series with 'Shang-Chi' Director Destin Daniel Cretton

Marvel has put into development a series around superhero Wonder Man!

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is teaming up with writer Andrew Guest to bring to life a live-action series centered on the Marvel character, THR reveals.

While the series in early development, Daniel will serve as executive producer and possibly direct one or more episodes. Andrew will serve has head writer.

If you don’t know, Wonder Man is one of Marvel’s oldest characters, who was first introduced in 1964. He was a villain at first, but was reconceived as a hero in the late 70s.

According to THR, “known as Simon Williams, he was a founding member of the Los Angeles-based West Coast Avengers and, with a look that included a turtleneck, a red jacket and sunglasses, became a celebrity thanks to his day job as an actor and stuntman.”

Wonder Man also has ties to Vision and Wanda/Scarlett Witch, who he even developed feelings for.

If you didn’t know, Destin Daniel Cretton has another TV series coming out on Disney+, unrelated to Marvel.
