A live action Pac-Man movie is in the works!

Wayfarer is working with the arcade game’s publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment, who created the game released in 1980.

The movie is based on a story by Chuck Williams, who worked as a producer on the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

Pac-Man is of course set “in mazes where Pac-Man has to eat pellets while being pursued by colorful ghosts as the mazes get progressively more difficult.”

There have previously been a couple of iterations on screen, the 1982 Pac-Man series from Hanna-Barbera Productions and Disney XD’s Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. Both only ran for two seasons.

This will be the first live action screen adaptation of the classic video game, which has seen several different games over the years.
