Charli D'Amelio Talks Joining 'Dancing With The Stars' & Making New Friends

Charli D’Amelio is opening up about joining the current season of Dancing with the Stars!

The 18-year-old TikTok star has been killing it on the show, scoring at the top each week of the competition so far.

During a recent interview, Charli shared why she originally wanted to do the show, how it’s flying by and making friends with the cast.

“Originally, I wanted to do it because I love dancing but I was also like, ‘I know my mom wants to do it and I want to be there with her,’” she told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. “I was very, very unsure up until a few days before the first, probably up until the day of the first show because I just didn’t know. I didn’t know how this was going to go. I didn’t know how I was going to feel.”

“I knew that it was a lot of time and effort for something that I don’t know if this is going to work out at all since I’ve started. We’re on what, week seven now, which is insane. It feels like we started yesterday,” she continued.

She also added how she’s heard just how good of a cast they have this year.

“I’m very lucky and I’ve heard this from multiple people on the show, that this is a good cast. It’s a good cast. I have made so many friends. My partner [Mark Ballas] is just the sweetest person ever,” Charli dished. “Every day I’m learning more and more about all of these people that do such incredible things because we all come from different parts of the entertainment industry. Everyone on the show is just okay with figuring it out as we go, because that’s all we can do. I’ve just made such incredible friends and I can’t even explain it, but I am having the time of my life.”

In the same interview, Charli also opened up about the first time she played her debut song “if you ask me to” for her sister Dixie.
