Annaka Fourneret – 10 Fun Facts

1. My nickname is Fizzy, short for Felix (which is my middle name) and because I’m obsessed with fizzy water.
2. My favorite musical artists are The Strokes, Rex Orange County and The Sex Pistols. My parents are big indie rock fans, so music has always been a big deal in my house.
3. I have a cat named London Fog because he’s the color of my favorite tea drink – earl grey tea with lavender, vanilla, and cream.
4. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but I am half French, so got to spend the summers in the south of France. I call my dad Papa because that’s what you call dads in France.
5. My favorite thing to do is travel and I’ve had the good fortune to travel a lot. The next place I hope to visit is Edinburgh, Scotland. It’s so rainy and gloomy, it looks magical.
6. I love to surf and ski. My favorite place to surf is Le Conquet on the coast of France in Bretagne. Le Conquet is like the French version of Big Sur in California – it has all these crazy cliffs. And my favorite place to ski is Whistler, British Columbia in Canada. I used to go every winter.
7. My favorite tv show as a kid was The Backyardigans – I still know every song and dance. It was the coolest show, the storyline each week highlighted a different musical and dance style. From Ska to Samba. It was the best!!
8. My first name is Dutch and was supposed to be spelled Anneke but my father was worried my family in France wouldn’t know how to pronounce it, so they spelled it phonetically.
9. I love science and math. And when I was little, I wanted to be a paleoanthropologist. Although in kindergarten I told my class when I grew up, I wanted to be a security guard. Guess things have changed lol.
10. I can make a 3-leaf clover with my tongue as well as wiggle my ears. Supposedly being able to do this is really rare but it’s something all of my Dad’s family can do. And my elbows are double jointed, so I can turn them almost a full 360. Great party tricks.
