Disney+ Launches Ad-Supported Tier - Get the Details!

The Disney+ ad tier plan has now launched in the United States!

The streaming service’s new subscription plan, Disney+ Basic, was implemented on Thursday (December 8), with over 100 advertisers across all major categories at launch.

In addition to the ad plan on Disney+, new ad plans across the Disney Bundle and Hulu + Live TV are now available as well.

“Today’s launch marks a milestone moment for Disney+ and puts consumer choice at the forefront,” Michael Paull, president, Direct to Consumer, shared in a statement. “With these new ad-supported offerings, we’re able to deliver greater flexibility for consumers to enjoy the full breadth and depth of incredible storytelling from The Walt Disney Company.”

Many of the companies that will have ads on the new ad-supported plan include Starbucks, Google, Mattel, Nintendo, Chipotle, Taco Bell, Verizon, Adidas, Target, State Farm, Old Navy, UPS, LVMH, Chanel, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, and many more!

With the new Disney+ Basic plan, viewers will “enjoy the full content catalog and key product features that are also offered on a Disney+ Premium plan.”

These features include the exclusive originals and library content, profiles (being able to create up to seven profiles per account, with the ability to set profile pins through Parental Controls), concurrent viewing (ability to stream on up to four devices simultaneously) and high-quality video formats (including 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, Full HD, HDR10, and Expanded Aspect Ratio with IMAX Enhanced).
