Stephen Amell Confirmed to Return as Oliver Queen/Arrow In The Flash's Final Season!

The final season of The Flash keeps on getting better and better!

It was just revealed on Wednesday (January 4) that Stephen Amell will in fact be reprising his role of Oliver Queen/Arrow for the upcoming ninth season.

TV Line has confirmed that the former Arrow star, who started the Arrowverse and the reason we first met Barry Allen/The Flash, is coming back!

“As soon as our final season was announced, we knew we wanted Stephen to come back and reprise his iconic role as Oliver Queen,” showrunner Eric Wallace shared. “After all, it was Oliver who originally launched Barry Allen on his heroic path. That’s why everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver’s return in the final season of The Flash.”

Just the day before, it was announced that David Ramsey, aka John Diggle from Arrow, would be returning as well, along with two former The Flash actors.

Just last weekend, Stephen shared on Instagram that he and his family were back in British Columbia, and fans immediately suspected he was coming back for The Flash.

Previously, showrunner Eric Wallace teased that we would be seeing some familiar faces in the final season and he was not kidding!

Stephen‘s appearance back on The Flash will be “an epic-yet-emotional episode we hope Arrowverse fans will enjoy, according to Eric.

“It’s all to say ‘thank you’ to everyone for watching and supporting our show throughout nine wonderful years. We absolutely cannot wait for everyone to see Grant and Stephen saving the world together again. And yes, there will be thrills, chills and tears.”
