James Gunn refers to this as “the true beginning of the DCU.” He is in the middle of writing it and “having a great time doing it.”

The film will be out July 11, 2025.

“It’s not an origin story,” Peter Safran adds, via THR. “It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks that kindness as old-fashioned.”
