Rebecca Black Releases Debut Album 'Let Her Burn': 'It's Almost Unreal'

Rebecca Black just dropped her debut album Let Her Burn!

The 25-year-old singer has come a long way since “Friday” over ten years ago, and has now released her first full length body of work.

“Not lying when I say I’ve spent about half my life dreaming of this day. It’s almost unreal to wake up and see it finally here,” she wrote on Instagram. “Seeing so many of you listening already and talking about your favorites…I don’t know if i’d ever be able to articulate to my 13 year old self just how sweet this warmth feels. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Recently, Rebecca opened up about her intentions as a pop star.

“My intention is like, here I am as a pop star, take it or leave it,” she told them. “No matter what happened to me before this, I am here to make music that is just as good and exciting as everybody else out here. And if you don’t see it and don’t want to take it, that’s fine, but just know that that’s why I’m here. I’m not here just to redeem myself.”

She also dished on the meaning of her song “Destroy Me,” from the album.

“The song is about trying to find a way to let that go in a way where it feels like I have power over it, like, ‘Yes. Go ahead and destroy me. Everyone does it,’” she said. “The reality is we’re all trying to find empowerment from really dark places in our lives.”
