'How to Train Your Dragon' to Get Live Action Movie Treatment!

How to Train Your Dragon is the latest animated movie to be turned into a live action feature!

The hit Dreamworks film series will get the live action treatment from filmmaker Dean DeBlois, who is actually behind the animated films, THR reports.

Dean wrote and directed the animated trilogy and will return to write, direct and produce the new live action.

The upcoming movie already has a release date set for March 14, 2025, with casting currently underway.

If you didn’t know, How to Train Your Dragon is actually based off of books by Cressida Cowell.

The first film followed Hiccup, a young Viking who defies tradition and befriends one of his deadliest foes – a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. Together, the unlikely heroes fight against the odds to save both their worlds in this wonderful, feel-good hit.

Not only has How to Train Your Dragon had three fan-favorite movies, but it’s also spawned three TV series and a handful of video games.

This will be a live action debut for director Dean DeBlois, with Marc Platt producing through his Universal-based Marc Platt Productions, along with Adam Siegel.
