Reason Why Sabrina Carpenter's Portland Concert Was Canceled Revealed

A new report is revealing just why Sabrina Carpenter‘s Portland concert on Monday night (April 10) was unexpectedly canceled.

The 23-year-old singer and actress was set to take the stage at the Keller Auditorium in the Oregon city.

After fans waited a while following the opening act Spill Tab, a venue staff member took the stage to share that Sabrina would not be performing. Earlier in the day, she took part in a soundcheck for fans with VIP packages.

Now, almost 24 hours after the show was abruptly canceled, authorities are sharing the reasoning as to why the show was ended.

According to Rolling Stone, tour promoter AEG Presents shared that the show was canceled “out of an abundance of caution” following a “credible threat” was made to the venue she was originally supposed to perform at, Crystal Ballroom.

Lieutenant Nathan Sheppard of the Portland Police Bureau told the publication, “Employees with the Crystal Ballroom called after they received a phone call from an anonymous person claiming they were going to blow up the venue.”

Sabrina previously changed the venue from Crystal Ballroom to Keller Auditorium to allow for more attendees. The promoter and her team decided it was best not to move forward with the show for everyone’s safety.

“While the threat was not directed at Keller Auditorium specifically, Sabrina and event organizers agreed that out of an abundance of caution, the show be called off,” an AEG rep added. “Steps were taken to ensure that the audience exited the venue calmly, quickly, and safely.”

That night, Sabrina took to social media to apologize to fans for canceling last minute.

“Portland – I can’t tell you how much it breaks my heart, this is the last thing I wanted to do, but due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be able to perform tonight.”

“You will be refunded – refunds will come at point of purchase and we are doing our best to reschedule at a later date. The venue is closing for the evening, please take care of yourselves and return home safely! I am so sorry. I love you very much,” she added.
