'Pretty Little Liars: Summer School' Welcomes Back Character From Original Series, & Lucy Hale is Thrilled

Fans of Pretty Little Liars should be excited because a familiar face is returning to the franchise for the first time in eight years on the HBO Max Summer School spin-off.

The new series, which was called Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin in its first season, is back again in 2023.

HBO Max took to social media to provide an update on the second season and reveal that they were welcoming back a character from the original series. The news has PLL alum Lucy Hale seriously thrilled!

Annabeth Gish, who was introduced to PLL with the second season of the show in 2011, is back in action as Dr. Sullivan in Summer School.

The network made the reveal with a post on Instagram on Friday (April 21). In it, Annabeth poses for a pic with Bailee Madison, Zaria, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco and Chandler Kinney on a couch.

“The doctor will see you now,” they teased in the caption, adding that the show was “officially in production.”

Lucy rushed to the comments section to celebrate the casting, simply writing “Annabeth!! ❤️”

“A second season is a great time for ther🅰️py!!! WE LOVE YOU,” Bailee wrote. Chandler agreed, writing, “Y🅰️Y THER🅰️PY.”

Bailee just revealed that filming for the second season had commenced earlier this month. She shared some must-see pics!

This will mark Annabeth‘s second comeback to the franchise. She was involved in the second and third seasons of PLL and returned several years later for the sixth season.
