Halle Bailey Reveals What Beyoncé Thinks of Her Solo Music

Halle Bailey has been working on her solo music!

If you didn’t know, the 23-year-old The Little Mermaid star and her sister make up the Grammy-nominated duo Chloe x Halle, but have been taking some time to work on their own solo music and acting projects over the last few years.

The girls are also signed to Beyoncé‘s Parkwood Entertainment record label, and have been since the superstar signed them in 2015.

In a recent interview, Halle opened up about the sound for her upcoming solo record and what Beyoncé thinks of it.

Halle describes her upcoming music as a mash-up of jazz and grunge. But what does her mentor think?

“I just played her a lot of my songs and she was really overjoyed for me. It’s really cool to have somebody as established and talented as she is give you confirmation that the art you’re creating matters,” Halle shared with British Vogue. “She won’t outright be like, ‘This is what I think you should do.’ She’s very open that way. And to have that since we were 15 is something I do not take for granted.”

Halle then gushed how she’s also a huge fan of Queen Bey like the rest of us.

“We were just in Dubai and saw her show,” she said. “She’s so normal in person, but then you see her perform and see how immensely talented and magical her voice is. It’s just mind-boggling when I think about it.”
