'Cruel Summer' Season 2 Trailer is Breaking Records for Freeform

The anticipation for the long-awaited second season of Cruel Summer is at quite a high!

Freeform finally revealed the premiere date in mid-April, followed by the first teaser less than two weeks later, and finally the full trailer earlier this month.

As fans have been anxiously waiting for the second season, they have been devouring the trailer since it’s release on May 8th, and have been watching it in record numbers!

According to Deadline, the trailer has been racked up over 24 million views across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube in it’s first 10 days online, well on the way to becoming the most watched trailer ever for Freeform.

It has passed the total number of views for the season one trailer, as well as the trailer for The Watchful Eye.

“Fans have been eagerly awaiting season two of Cruel Summer and we are so happy to see them engaging with the new trailer,” Simran Sethi, EVP, Programming and Content Strategy, ABC Entertainment and Freeform, shared in a statement. “The imaginative creative team has outdone themselves with the new and intriguing mystery at the center of this next chapter. June 5 is just around the corner and there are going to be a lot of surprises in store that our viewers will love.”

Cruel Summer will of course premiere it’s second season in just a few weeks on Monday, June 5th at 9pm ET/PT on Freeform. Check out the record-breaking trailer here!
